Overwatch 2 released its priciest cosmetic bundle to date in 2024, and while the skins are incredibly detailed and well-designed, the cost is raising a lot of eyebrows. The new “Seraphim Mega Bundle” will set you back a whopping 6,800 credits, which translates to around $68.  



  The bundle includes unique Legendary skins for Brigitte, D.Va, Kiriko, Sombra, and Tracer, each with special effects and high fidelity details that arguably surpass even the Mythic skins. Brigitte’s skin features an iridescent bolt and USB-C cable on her mace. Kiriko glows and has a disco ball-like grenade. Sombra has LED-style hair and a blinged out machine pistol. If you want to purchase the skins individually, they’re sold in packs with victory poses for 2,500 credits each, or about $25. Buying all 5 separately would total an astronomical $125 (12,500 credits). So the $68 bundle seems like a “deal” in comparison. Of course, Blizzard is employing typical free-to-play monetization tactics here. Both the skins and special currency offers are only available for a limited time, leveraging FOMO to push sales. And this effort likely diverts development resources away from gameplay and more towards pumping out expensive cosmetics. But hey, one thing I can tell you for sure is that these skins won’t help you reach the rank you want. And in that case there are still options.   While it’s hard to deny the skins are incredibly well-made and fitting for Overwatch 2’s aesthetic, the exorbitant pricing feels like a cash grab. Paying nearly the cost of a full game for a handful of skins is a tough pill to swallow. But hey, at least players on the enemy team will get to enjoy looking at your pricey new drip when they take you out.
